WSL bug (Fatal Python error: pyinit_main: can't initialize time)
This bug seems to touch Python on certain versions of the WSL, after the computer has been running for several days:

Fatal Python error: pyinit_main: can't initialize time
Python runtime state: core initialized
OverflowError: timestamp too large to convert to C _PyTime_t

The solution is to reboot the computer (or update the WSL if you can).
